Nigeria's troubled food economy
http://trophort.com/research/000/008/...
Traditionally self-sufficient in food production, Nigeria has recently experienced problems with food production. These troubles have been attributed to neglect by policy-makers, stagnant productivity, low returns to producers, inefficient marketing and distribution, and poor government policies. Measures to improve such inadequacies include improvements in productivity, marketing, and minimizing postharvest loss.
