BTCC: Gow pleased with first year of S2000 http://about-sport.net/?p=10519... BTCC boss Alan Gow believes that the championship’s switch to Super 2000 rules in 2007 was a success.
The series had featured cars run to specific regulations for Britain from 2001-2006, but this year the championship switched fully to the same car specifications used in the World Touring Car Championship, after some Super 2000 cars had raced in the championship since 2004.
Gow said that he was particularly pleased by the size of the entry lists throughout the season, which he feels were boosted by the new regulations.
“S2000 was the right way to go as borne out by the excellent entry list in our first season of using those sporting regulations,” said Gow.
