George Mitchell, the U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East, is set to visit Israel, the Palestinian territories, and other parts of the region next week. This will be his first visit to Israel since rightist Benjamin Netanyahu became prime minister. Mr. Netanyahu has not declared support for the two-state solution that Washington wants and Mitchell's job will be to see whether Israel is interested in restarting the peace process.
