The Explosive Review - Dr. No (1962)
http://explosive.today.com/2009/01/07/dr-no-196...
As the fourth lowest grossing film in the series, "Dr. No" was budgeted at $1 million, grossing a total of over $16 million in the US domestic box office and over $59 million worldwide, equaling close to $389 million when adjusted to today's inflation. It is the most straight-forward Bond film in terms of plot and entails only one major location and only one big special effects sequence.

The Explosive Review - From Russia With Love (1963)
http://explosive.today.com/2009/01/08/from-russ...
"From Russia With Love" follows "Dr. No" as the second spy thriller in the James Bond film franchise, also the second to star Sean Connery as the title character. It also introduces us to several first-time trends in the film series that would soon become known as the essential formula elements for every bond film to come i.e. the pre-title sequence, the Blofeld villain, a secret weapon gadget for Bond to use at some point, a helicopter sequence, a post-showdown action scene at the end, and not to mention the film's theme long with lyrics plus the usual "James Bond Will Return" link written after the credits.

The Explosive Review - Goldfinger (1964)
http://explosive.today.com/2009/01/09/goldfinge...
As the first official blockbuster in the Bond series, "Goldfinger" had made history in cinema when it made back its production costs very quickly, despite having a bigger budget than the previous two films. It also uses a pop star to sing the theme song during the opening titles, carving a niche for every Bond sequel afterward to follow.

The Explosive Review - Thunderball (1965)
http://explosive.today.com/2009/01/11/thunderba...
"Thunderball" was a success, earning a total of $141.2 million worldwide (more than the previous three Bond films), however, it was somewhat panned by critics alike. The film proves itself as a worthy addition to the series, but the prolonged aquatic action can tend to be somewhat monotonous. While the underwater sequences are well choreographed and shot perfectly, they're simply too long. It's almost like watching an aquatic James Cameron movie.

The Explosive Review - You Only Live Twice (1967)
http://explosive.today.com/2009/01/12/you-only-...
"You Only Live Twice" is the fifth film in the James Bond franchise, once again starring the one and only original Bond, Sean Connery. This time, Bond is pitted against SPECTRE members in Japan, investigating the mysterious disappearance of a US/Russian spacecraft in orbit. 007 is secretly dispatched to a private Japanese island in order to hunt down whoever is responsible - low and behold, it's Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the head ginny of the SPECTRE organization himself, who's been in the shadows for the whole series up until now.

The Explosive Review - Diamonds Are Forever (1971)
http://explosive.today.com/2009/01/13/diamonds-...
Sean Connery returns for one final appearance as James Bond in the franchise's seventh entry titled "Diamonds Are Forever". Joining him is the magnificent directing of Guy Hamilton once again (who previously directed the mega Bond film, "Goldfinger") and Bond's arch nemesis and main villain from the past two films, Blofeld. This time, Bond goes undercover as a diamond thief in order to infiltrate a ring of smugglers whom he soon discovers to be under the leadership of none other than Blofeld himself, whom is planning to use diamonds to construct a huge laser satellite in space that he could use to hold the entire planet ransom.
