Olivo Barbieri: The Waterfall Project http://fashion-week.net/?p=3806... Hovering in a helicopter some 300 to 500 feet above soil, Italian photographer Olivo Barbieri makes cities and landscapes gaze like children’s toys or highly-detailed miniature models. Having shot cities like Rome and Las Vegas from above in the gone, his current sequence aptly called “The fall Project” looks at four of the largest waterfalls in the world. Using a large-format camera that allows him to sport with the layers of focus in a picture, Barbieri turns real scenes into spaces that seem impossible. But despite their unreal feel, all of his images hold been created by carefully controlling the optical techniques of his camera and haven’t been digitally altered or distorted following shooting.
Miniature City Optical Illusion http://visualfunhouse.com/altered_reality/minia... This is a very cool camera effect. The pictures below appear to be a city built of miniatures or replica models. In fact they are all real pictures of the actual places. The first one is the Roman Colosseum, the second is the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, followed by a Soccer filed, , Colosseum, tanker boat, and a shot of Hover Dam. This Effect is done by using a tilt-frame camera, this normally allows wide angle views to be captured in normal perspective; when used incorrectly it creates this miniature optical illusion.
