http://finance-week.org/?p=1305...
Robert Reich, former Secretary of Labor under President Clinton. did a little exercise where he took the GDP, divided it by the population and came up with a figure of ,000 for every man, woman and child in this country IF GDP were to be divided equally.

A New Meaning Of Independence Day
http://thejunction.net/justfacts/2008/07/06/new...
This 4th of July 2008 may be the last time many of us Americans may ever feel happy about the 4th of July Independence Day meaning ... as the true American Independence heritage fades more and more each and every passing day as corporate America out-sources domestic careers, not just jobs in which entire U.S. industries become void and gone overseas most likely forever to remote places such as Bangalore, India or SuZhou in China’s Zhejiang Province. It has become clear that the U.S. Economy does NOT grow as a service industry in a globalized marketplace with sustainable careers to support American families.

2008 Summer Olympics Part 4 - China s Human Rights
http://thejunction.net/justfacts/2008/08/10/200...
To believe that the Olympics in todays world is a mere sporting event is naive. Beijing was awarded the Olympics as a political gesture allowing them to prove themselves. Now it is up to China to prove to the world they are up to the task of living up to international human rights standards. Everyone MUST be so bold to declare ANYTHING less will negatively impact any recognition China hopes to achieve from these 2008 Olympic games. Everyone must be held to the same international human rights standard, including the United States.

Consumer spending accounts for two-thirds of US economy | Get Out of Debt
http://getoutofdebt.org/2824/consumer-spending-...
More than two-thirds of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product derives from everyday stuff like dining out, buying a new shirt or visiting the dentist. About 14 percent stems from private investment, for instance companies purchasing new machinery or building new factories. And the rest comes from government spending on things like bridge building, schools, and defense.
