Paul Pogba, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbapppe, Harry Kane, Declan Rice: 50 players who could move in the summer transfer window | Football News

As we approach what promises to be a busy transfer window, Sky Sports takes a look at 50 players who could be on the move this summer…

Kylian Mbappe

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, who became the world’s most expensive teenager when signed from Monaco for £166m in 2018, is out of contract at the end of the season, with Real Madrid the favourites to sign him.

Real had a £145m bid for Mbappe rejected last summer – after he requested to leave PSG – and the French club are still holding out hope of convincing their star forward to stay.

Erling Haaland

Borrusia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is expected to be on the move this summer when his £64m release clause comes into effect, with top clubs across Europe fighting for his signature.

Manchester City are in pole position to sign the 21-year-old, who has a contract with Dortmund until the summer of 2024, should he move to the Premier League.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly also in the running to sign Haaland, and there is a suggestion Bayern Munich could be interested with Robert Lewandowski’s future seemingly up in the air.

Harry Kane

Harry Kane asked to leave Tottenham last summer but ended up staying in north London after the club resisted multiple offers from Manchester City.

Spurs are in no rush to sell Kane, who has a contract until 2024, but there have been reports Manchester United are set to reignite their interest in the 28-year-old England striker this summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo

There are doubts around whether Cristiano Ronaldo wants to be at Manchester United beyond this season with missing out on Champions League qualification a distinct possibility for the club.

It is also unclear whether the new manager will see Ronaldo, who still has another year on his contract, as part of their plans at Old Trafford.

Paul Pogba

A number of European clubs – including Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus – remain in contact with Paul Pogba’s representatives about signing the midfielder on a free transfer this summer.

Sky Sports News has been told two Premier League clubs have also been in touch with Pogba’s camp. The 29-year-old has not ruled out staying at United – but there has been no new contract offer since last summer.

Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah remains in talks with Liverpool over a new contract, with just over a year left on his current deal.

Reports have emerged Barcelona are exploring the possibility of signing Salah this summer, and the longer negotiations drag on the more questions it raises about the future of the 29-year-old.

Declan Rice

West Ham midfielder Declan Rice has become one of the most sought after players in the Premier League, with Manchester United and Chelsea among those said to be interested in him this summer.

It is expected West Ham would demand a fee of at least £100m for the 23-year-old, whose current deal runs until the summer of 2024.

Marcus Rashford

Reports emerged recently suggesting England international Marcus Rashford is considering his future at the club after being benched for Manchester United’s derby defeat to Manchester City in March.

The 24-year-old’s current deal, which includes a one-year option extension clause, is due to expire in 2023 with the forward struggling for form during an unsettled season at Old Trafford.

Barcelona have reportedly rekindled their interest while Arsenal and PSG have also been linked, with Rashford suggested as a potential replacement for Mbappe should he decide to leave France.

Anthony Martial

It is unclear what the future holds for Manchester United striker Anthony Martial with the France international struggling to rediscover top form on loan at Sevilla since moving in January.

Martial, who is contracted at United until 2024, demanded a move away because he needed a “new atmosphere” but has left the door open to staying at Old Trafford beyond this season.

The identity of United’s new manager will certainly play a role, coupled with the future of the Red Devils’ other attacking players.

Djed Spence

Middlesbrough full-back Djed Spence has been attracting interest from German champions Bayern Munich, along with every club in the Premier League.

Spence has impressed during a productive loan spell at Nottingham Forest this season and is rated as one of the Championship’s best young full-backs.

The Bundesliga champions have been monitoring his progress, with Sky Sports News being told Bayern are expected to make a formal approach to Boro about a summer transfer in the coming weeks.

Real Madrid are one of several European clubs interested in the services of Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, with his contract at Stamford Bridge due to expire in June.

The 29-year-old was the subject of discussions over a new deal in January, but a formal agreement was never reached.

Ryan Kent

Rangers forward Ryan Kent is approaching the final 12 months of his contract at Ibrox and is reportedly attracting interest from Premier League side Leeds.

The Glasgow side could be forced to make a decision on his future if the winger does not agree terms over a new deal.

Aaron Ramsey

Aaron Ramsey has spent the second half of the season on loan at Rangers after being deemed surplus to requirements at Juventus by head coach Massimiliano Allegri in January.

The 31-year-old Wales midfielder will have another year left on his contract when he returns to Turin.

Vivianne Miedema

Arsenal striker Vivianne Miedema has spoken to several clubs regarding her future, including Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, with her contract at the London club running down this summer.

The 25-year-old has previously expressed a desire to win the Champions League, and with more than 100 Netherlands caps under her belt, has been made a key priority for the top European clubs.

Laia Aleixandri

Reports in Spain have suggested Atletico Madrid defender Laia Aleixandri could join Manchester City this summer, having not renewed her contract with Atleti, which ends on June 30.

The 21-year-old is no stranger in Manchester, having played in both legs of Atletico’s Women’s Champions League round-of-32 wins over City in both 2018/19 and 2019/20.

Marie-Antoinette Katoto

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are said to be monitoring the situation of PSG’s star striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto, who is the French club’s all-time leading goalscorer.

The 23-year-old’s contract is due to expire this summer, and she’s yet to agree new terms with her native club, with suggestions Olympique Lyonnais Feminin are also interested.

Alexandre Lacazette

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has expressed an interest in re-signing forward Alexandre Lacazette, with his Arsenal contract set to expire this summer.

Lacazette, 30, signed for Arsenal in a £47m deal from Lyon back in 2017 and could be on his way back to Ligue 1, if he fails to agree an extension with the Gunners before the summer.

Philippe Coutinho

Brazil forward Philippe Coutinho, currently on a six-month loan spell at Aston Villa, has a contract with Barcelona until June 2023.

Sky Sports News has been told Villa are currently paying less than half of Coutinho’s wages, and reports suggest they would struggle to afford his salary should they wish to make a deal permanent.

Arsenal have been linked with making a move for the former Liverpool man.

Raphinha

Raphinha has a contract with Leeds until 2024, but is attracting interest from a number of clubs

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed they “really like” Leeds winger Raphinha, and Sky Sports News has been told they are one of a number of clubs vying for his signature this summer.

Talks have been ongoing between Leeds and Raphinha over a new contract since last year, but he is yet to sign the terms on offer, with his current deal running until 2024.

There was significant interest in him from other English top-flight sides in January, including West Ham, but a move did not materialise.

Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez, now 35, could be eyeing an extraordinary return to the Premier League as he looks set to leave Atletico Madrid at the end of the season when his contract expires after falling out of favour under Diego Simeone.

Reports have suggested Steven Gerrard will attempt to convince his former Liverpool team-mate to join him at Aston Villa.

Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi is under contract at Paris Saint Germain until 2023 but has not enjoyed the most productive season since leaving boyhood club Barcelona last summer.

The 34-year-old Argentina international, who has expressed an interest in moving to MLS, says he will consider his future in football after the World Cup in Qatar.

Romelu Lukaku

The future of Romelu Lukaku at Chelsea, just one year into the striker’s five-year deal, has been called into question following a lacklustre return to the Premier League.

Lukaku, 28, is under contract until 2026 and cost the Blues a club record fee £97.5m – just shy of the British transfer record held by Jack Grealish – meaning a summer move for the Belgian remains unlikely, but not unfathomable.

Edinson Cavani

The location of Edinson Cavani, 35, is unlikely to be Old Trafford beyond the summer, as his Manchester United deal is due to expire with no extension on the table.

The Uruguay forward has struggled with injury problems this season and will once again become a free agent in June after release from Paris Saint Germain in 2020. It is understood Cavani will explore options in Spain as well as approaches from multiple South American clubs.

Richarlison

Everton’s precarious position in the table raises questions about the future of Richarlison, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

If Everton are relegated, the Brazil international, who has a contract until 2024, is almost certain to leave.

Donny van de Beek

Donny van de Beek became a forgotten man at Manchester United before securing a loan move to Everton, but it remains unclear what the future holds for the Netherlands international at Old Trafford.

Whether the 24-year-old stays at United or not will likely heavily depend on who the club hire as their next manager, as Van De Beek still has a contract until 2025.

Gareth Bale

Wales international Gareth Bale is set to leave Real Madrid this summer after nine years in Spain with his contract due to expire, and is considering calling time on his playing career.

Should Wales qualify for this year’s World Cup finals in Qatar, the forward will consider exploring opportunities in the Championship.

Neymar

Reports have emerged PSG could now be willing to move on from Neymar – despite the Brazil international having a contract until 2025 on astronomical wages that would make any potential transfer difficult.

Neymar, who has previously tried to force an exit to Barcelona, was booed by supporters during the 4-0 thrashing against Monaco after their humiliating Champions League exit at the hands of Real Madrid.

Cesar Azpilicueta

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta’s future remains uncertain as his current deal is due to conclude at the end of the 2021/22 season.

Should the 32-year-old move on from Stamford Bridge, where he remains a central figure, Barcelona are reportedly willing to offer him a two-year deal, with the option to extend by a further year.

Andreas Christensen

Barcelona are reportedly in competition with Bayern Munich in the race to sign Andreas Christensen this summer, amid reports the defender’s contract situation at Chelsea will remain unresolved.

Chelsea have tabled multiple offers in an attempt to retain the services of the 25-year-old Denmark international, with a move to Catalonia as a free agent now a real possibility at the end of the season.

Robert Lewandowksi has one more year left on his deal after the current season and Bayern Munich could look to cash in on the striker if they fail to agree terms on a new deal.

Lewandowski, who has also been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, told Sky in Germany he is “open to everything” with regard to his future.

Dean Henderson

Manchester United reserve goalkeeper Dean Henderson is expected to leave at the end of the season after failing to oust David de Gea as the No 1 at Old Trafford.

The latest reports suggest Newcastle are interested in buying the 25-year-old, who has three years left on his United deal, with the club holding an option to extend for an additional 12 months.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

Chelsea’s deputy goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is set to be the subject of transfer interest this summer as he looks for first-team football away from Stamford Bridge.

Arrizabalaga, who is reportedly a target for Newcastle, has struggled for opportunities since the arrival of Edouard Mendy – despite being signed for a world record £71.6m fee for a goalkeeper in 2018.

Paulo Dybala

Paulo Dybala is leaving Juventus when his contract expires at the end of the season after seven years in Turin.

The 28-year-old Argentina international came close to a move to the Premier League in 2019, but potential transfers to Manchester United and Tottenham fell through.

Reports in Italy claim Inter Milan are ready to offer him a contract if Alexis Sanchez leaves the club in the summer.

Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen is a free agent at the end of the season after signing a six-month contract with Brentford when he arrived in January, providing flexibility over his future.

There has been talk of a potential return to Tottenham, which only intensified when Spurs boss Antonio Conte, who worked with Eriksen at Inter, opened the door to a potential reunion by saying it would be a “good opportunity” to work together again. An extension at Brentford could also be a distinct possibility.

Youri Tielemans

Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans is approaching the final year of his current deal at the King Power, and the club could be forced to cash in on the Belgium international this summer.

The 24-year-old has been strongly linked with Arsenal and Manchester United, despite clear intention from the Foxes to retain the services of their prized midfielder.

Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard is out of contract at Manchester United at the end of the season and expected to be on the move.

The midfielder, who spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham, was unhappy when United refused to let him leave on loan in January despite interim boss Ralf Rangnick giving his blessing.

Newcastle and West Ham were interested in Lingard in January and could renew their interest in the 29-year-old this summer.

Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard has become regular on the substitutes’ bench at Real Madrid after being blighted by injuries since leaving Chelsea and is reportedly set to depart this summer.

Real, who spent in the region of £100m on Hazard in 2019, are said to be open to cutting their losses on the Belgium international, who has two years left on his deal.

Arsenal and Newcastle have been linked with bringing Hazard back to the Premier League.

Ousmane Dembele

The future looked bleak for Ousmane Dembele at Barcelona after he was told to find a new club in January as he entered the final six months of his contract despite his wish to stay.

Barcelona had threatened he would not play if he failed to secure a move – but head coach Xavi has successfully lobbied to have him return to the first-team fold.

Xavi is developing a strong understanding with the France international, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea, and hopes their relationship can open the door for talks about a new contract.

Angel Di Maria

Paris Saint-Germain forward Angel Di Maria is out of contract at the end of the season and reports in France suggest the club are willing to let him leave on a free transfer this summer.

It has been reported the 34-year-old would be keen on one more year in Paris before returning to Argentina.

James Tarkowski

Burnley defender James Tarkowski has long been linked with a move away from Turf Moor, but it appears with his contract expiring this summer it could finally be about to happen.

Newcastle were interested in the 29-year-old in January but nothing ever materialised, while West Ham and Leicester have also previously targeted the Burnley centre-back.

Jota

Celtic are expected to make the loan move of Jota from Benfica permanent after an impressive debut season in Scotland from the Portugal U21 winger.

It is understood Celtic have an option to purchase the 22-year-old for £6.5m.

Cameron Carter-Vickers

Celtic have opened talks with Tottenham over making Cameron Carter-Vickers’ loan move permanent.

An initial fee of £6m is in the agreement of Carter-Vickers’ loan, with one source telling Sky Sports News talks between Celtic and Spurs are based around the structure of any potential permanent deal.

It’s understood there is no wriggle-room on the overall price for the United States defender.

Divock Origi

AC Milan are favourites to sign Liverpool striker Divock Origi when his contract expires at the end of the season, having fallen further down the pecking order during Jürgen Klopp’s reign since the arrival of Luis Diaz.

If Origi were to move it would bring an end to his eight-year association with the Merseyside club.

Sam Johnstone

West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is out of contract in the summer and is said to be eyeing a move to a Premier League club.

There has been talk Johnstone could return to Manchester United – four years after he was released by his boyhood club – with Newcastle and West Ham also reportedly in the running.

Boubacar Kamara

Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara is out of contract at the end of the season and has been monitored by Manchester United as they look to bolster their midfield options.

Sky Sports News has been told Newcastle and Roma are also interested in the 22-year-old.

Ben Brereton Diaz

Blackburn’s top scorer Ben Brereton Diaz is reportedly attracting interest from the Premier League – with Leeds among those keen – after scoring 20 goals in the Championship this season.

Image:
Could Ben Brereton Diaz be on the move this summer?

The Chile international is out of contract in the summer but it is understood Rovers have an option to extend his deal by an additional 12 months.

The Championship side could look to cash in on their star striker this summer, if they fail to agree terms on a new deal.

Fabio Carvahlo

Liverpool were set to sign Fabio Carvalho on Deadline Day and loan him back to Fulham but ran out of time to complete both deals.

It means the 19-year-old forward is set to leave Craven Cottage on a free transfer at the end of the season when his contract runs out.

The Championship club will, however, be entitled to compensation should Carvalho join another English side, while the fee would be nominal if he moves abroad.

Yves Bissouma

Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma was the subject of interest from Aston Villa in January and has long been linked with a move away from the Seagulls.

With the 25-year-old’s contract set to enter its final year next season, Brighton could be looking to cash in on one of their most prized assets this summer.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in January, and the Gunners are still in desperate need of a striker.

If Everton are relegated it would come as no surprise to see the 25-year-old England striker leave, with plenty of Premier League clubs likely keen on signing him.

Eddie Nketiah

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is out of contract at the end of the season and showing no signs he is any closer to agreeing a new deal, despite Mikel Arteta’s intent on his future being at the Emirates.

Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen were interested in the 22-year-old in January but an agreement was never reached.
