Law enforcement officers in the US state of California say they were responding to a shooting with “multiple victims” at a church near Los Angeles, just a day after a white gunman killed 10 people at a grocery store in New York state’s Buffalo city.

“Deputies are responding to reports of a shooting at a church,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Department tweeted. “Multiple victims have been shot,” they said, with a second tweet adding officers had detained one person.
