Rangers 2 – 1 Aberdeen

Rangers will face Celtic in the Scottish League Cup final on February 26 after Kemar Roofe struck an extra-time winner to seal a 2-1 victory over 10-man Aberdeen at Hampden Park.

Roofe met Scott Wright’s near-post cross four minutes into extra-time to send Michael Beale’s men on their way to victory after Aberdeen had been reduced to 10 men courtesy of captain Anthony Stewart’s straight red card for a challenge on Fashion Sakala (90+3).

Jim Goodwin’s Dons had established a first-half lead when Bojan Miovski converted Matty Kennedy’s cross (41) but Ryan Jack’s deflected effort restored parity for Rangers (61).

Rangers turned the screw but it was a moment of petulance from Stewart which allowed them to make use of their numerical advantage, and Beale now has the chance to lift his first piece of silverware against fiercest rivals Celtic at the end of next month back at Hampden Park.
