The 72nd NBA All-Star weekend is upon us, and with it plenty of entertainment, drama and intrigue. Take a read of our schedule below to get the inside scoop on what’s going on from Friday afternoon onwards, and how you can watch it live on Sky Sports.
Friday’s action
Event: All-Star celebrity game

The annual All-Star Celebrity Game is here to get us all in the mood for this weekend’s festivities.
Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith and minority owner Dwayne Wade will be appearing on opposite sides of the court in an attempt to coach their allotted stars to success.
Team Dwayne seems the stronger outfit with All-Star captain Giannis Antetokounmpo and Olympic medallist Lindsey Vonn on his coaching staff. Musicians Janelle Monae and 21 Savage will take to the floor alongside past and present NFL stars Calvin Johnson and DK Metcalf.
Meanwhile, Smith will be aided on the sidelines by WNBA Champion Lisa Leslie, World Series Champion Alex Bregman, and Grammy-nominated rapper Fat Joe.
Event: Jordan Rising Stars game
How to watch: Sky Sports Main Event & Arena, 2am Saturday UK time
The action keeps on going with the best of the NBA’s prospective talent taking part in Friday evening’s Rising Stars game.
Players will be selected into pools by NBA assistant coaches, with future stars like Paolo Banchero and Keegan Murray taking to the court in a draft-style fashion.

Those players will then go on to play to a final score, meaning that games will end with a basket or free throw, instead of running down the clock.
You can catch it live on Sky Sports Main Event, tipping off from 2am on Saturday morning in the UK.
Saturday’s action

The final practice ahead of the 72nd All-Star game provides the perfect glimpse into how the best of the NBA will be preparing ahead of Sunday’s big game.
The Saturday will also include behind-the-scenes interviews with notable members from both camps following the conclusion of media day.
Event: Skills, three-point and slam dunk challenge

Every year, the All-Star weekend plays host to various challenges, and the latest edition is proving to be just as scintillating. On court we’ll see skills and slam dunk competitions, as well as a three-point shoot-out.
For the skills competition, there’ll be three groups taking part in the action: the rookies, the Jazz, and the Antetokounmpo brothers.
Of course, we already know of one of the brothers’ skills, especially since the Milwaukee Bucks currently have the longest win streak in the league (11).

The slam dunk showdown will see four participants showcase the heights of their physical prowess: KJ Martin, Trey Murphy III, Mac McClung, and Jericho Sims.
Finally, the three-point competition sees some of the league’s biggest names taking aim with Jayson Tatum, Tyler Herro, Damian Lillard, Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield, Kevin Huerter, Lauri Markkanen and Anfernee Simon.

Sunday’s action
Event: 72nd NBA All-Star Game, Salt Lake City
Where to watch: Sky Sports Main Event & Arena, 1am Monday UK time
It’s the big one, and it’s live on Sky Sports Main Event with tip-off at 1am on Monday in the UK. Prior to that you can watch build-up and the live draft on Sky Sports Arena from 11pm on Sunday. Captains LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo will be facing each other in a blockbuster clash that’ll see them pick their respective teams 30 minutes before the action goes down, draft style.
This is a rule change that came in to effect for the first time in All-Star history, and although the previous five instances saw the decision made in the final days ahead of the game, it has never been done on the day itself.
Expect plenty of drama, surprise snubs, and perhaps some predictable pickings.
