Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli has signed a new contract with the club until 2027.

The 21-year-old’s previous deal was set to expire at the end of next season, but in a big boost for Mikel Arteta’s side he has agreed a new four-and-a-half-year deal with the option for an additional year.

Martinelli has scored seven goals in 27 games for Arsenal this season.

The Brazil international, who featured for his country at the World Cup in Qatar, has 25 goals in 111 matches in all competitions since joining from Brazilian side Ituano in July 2019.

“It’s very good news for Arsenal fans and Mikel Arteta.

“It’s something the club have been working on for a while now.

“Martinelli has been absolutely key to this Arsenal revival. He’s part of this young core of players who have done so well this season.

“Arsenal will be delighted to have finalised this deal, especially with the likes of Bukayo Saka and William Saliba also in contract talks.”

Mikel Arteta’s side will bid to move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League with victory at Everton on Saturday; kick-off 12.30pm.
