LeBron James’s Wife Savannah James Attends Solo

LeBron James was well-represented at the 2025 Met Gala.

While the NBA star—who was an honorary co-chair at the annual costume ball—was unable to attend the May 5 event in New York City, his wife Savannah James held court all on her own in a custom maroon Hanifa pinstripe gown with a mermaid silhouette and midriff cutout. Ahead of the event, LeBron, 40, explained his reason for sitting out the festivities, which support the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

“Unfortunately because of my knee injury I sustained at the end of the season I won’t be able to attend the Met Gala in NY tonight as so many people have been asking and congratulating me on,” he wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter) May 5. “Hate to miss an historical event!”

Nonetheless, he voiced his support for Savannah—with whom he shares kids Bronny, 20, Bryce, 17, and Zhuri, 10—as she attended the fashion fundraiser solo.
