Rams WR Odell Beckham Jr. cashes big bonus in wild-card win vs. Cardinals, could make millions more during NFL playoffs

Odell Beckham’s playoff experience up to now has been limited. But, the 29-year old is making the most of it, after showing off his dual-threat capabilities as a passer and reciever in just his second-ever playoff game on Monday night.

Beckham was a key part of the Rams’ 34-11 rout over Arizona in the wild-card round. He had four catches for 54 yards and a touchdown and completed another pass for 40 yards that set up a touchdown two plays later.

While much was made of Beckham’s performance and his midseason resurgence after struggling in Cleveland earlier this season, Beckham cashed in on more than clout and good press following the win. Beckham also took home an additional $500,000 simply for being on the winning side.

When Beckham Jr. signed with Sean McVay’s squad, he inked a one-year, $4.25 million deal, most of which was incetive-laden. Notably, the possible incentives were all team performance based rather than individual performance based.

How much more could OBJ cash in?

The wide receiver has a chance to make up to $3 million in incentives this year — He’s already gotten $500,000 for the wild card win, but stands to make $750,000 for a win in the divisional game vs. Tampa Bay on Sunday, $750,000 for capturing the NFC title and either $1 million for a Super Bowl win or $500,000 for a Super Bowl loss.

Beckham Jr. made nearly $46 million in his roughly two-and-a-half seasons in Cleveland, where he struggled to carve out a true No. 1 receiver role, hauling in 114 catches for 1,586 yards and seven touchdowns. He had no touchdowns and just 17 catches for Cleveland earlier this season.
