AT&T is already discounting the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge by $1,100 off – how it works
Pre-orders for Samsung’s next mainline smartphone, the Galaxy S25 Edge, are live, and AT&T has a new deal for it. For a limited time, AT&T will give you the S25 Edge for free “when you trade in an eligible phone” from any year and in any condition.
These include, but are not limited to, the Galaxy S22 Plus, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Fold6. It is possible to trade in a non-Samsung phone, like the iPhone 16; however, according to an AT&T rep, your third-party device must have a value of $35 after a “condition assessment has been conducted.

Several restrictions apply. First, the model in question has 256GB of storage. Phones with larger storage capacities are not eligible for this promotion. Additionally, it’s only “available to AT&T wireless customers and verified FirstNet Subscriber Paid Users” among a select few others.Â
May 30 is the official launch date for the Galaxy S25 Edge, and this ends on May 29. You can preorder the device either through the official AT&T website, the myAT&T app, or at a brick-and-mortar store. Outside of this deal, prices for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge start at $1,099.99 for the 256GB storage option and $1,219.99 for the 512GB model.
You will have to wait for our full review of the Galaxy S25 Edge to get the full picture of what the smartphone provides — but I can at least give you a preview.
The phone is Samsung’s latest slim mobile device, “with a thin 5.8mm chassis and weighing in at just 163 grams” (around 5.5 ounces). Mobile phones this lightweight can be rather fragile. To give it some durability, the S25 Edge boasts a titanium frame for “enduring protection”, plus a touchscreen made out of Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 — the first for any phone maker.
ZDNET’s Kerry Wan got a hands-on demo of the S25 Edge ahead of its unveiling today and commented, “When held in hand, the Galaxy S25 Edge almost feels like an illusion. I’ve been so hardwired to a certain heft when holding phones with 6.5-inch+ displays that the Galaxy S25 Edge just doesn’t feel real. Comparatively, my Galaxy S25 Ultra, which clocks in at 218 grams, is much more unwieldy, with sharper corners that dig into my palms and the ergonomics of a calculator.”
Under the hood is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, the same chipset that all Galaxy S25 models possess. The hardware is custom-made to support the device’s AI features, such as the ProVisual Engine, which enhances the finer details in photographs.

Speaking of photography, the smartphone has a 200MP wide-angle lens and an ultra-wide camera, each supporting its own set of features. The former has Nightography, allowing users to take clear images in low-light conditions, while the latter has autofocus. Other notable features include the Audio Eraser for editing recordings and ProScaler to boost “image scaling quality.”

The score on this deal should be pretty obvious. As per ZDNET’s rating system, I have to grant this promotion a perfect score of 5/5. You just can’t beat a free smartphone, especially a brand-new model from a flagship series.
