Is Lamar Jackson playing Week 15? Fantasy injury update for Packers-Ravens

Lamar Jackson owners might not have even made their fantasy football playoffs after his recent slump, but if they did, they’re likely waiting for the latest injury updates on his status for this week’s game against the Ravens. Jackson is officially “questionable” and figures to be one of the biggest start ’em, sit ’em headaches in Week 15.

We’ll continue to update this article with news on Jackson up until the official active/inactive report comes out on Sunday around 2:55 p.m. ET. For all the latest fantasy updates, follow us on Twitter @SN_Fantasy.

WEEK 15 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start ’em, sit ’em

Is Lamar Jackson playing in Week 15?

Jackson (ankle) failed to practice all week, but Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Friday that his star QB still “has a chance” to play against the Packers.

WEEK 15 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide Receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

It’s a huge game for the Ravens, so of course they hope Jackson can play, but he’s likely closer to “doubtful” than “questionable.” Fantasy owners should plan accordingly and have him on their benches. If he’s active, it’s tough to sit him, but given the late-afternoon kickoff, you shouldn’t wait around if you have a capable backup in the early games. There are several widely available pivot options playing in late/Monday/Tuesday games — Ravens backup Tyler Huntley, San Francisco’s Jimmy Garoppolo, Chicago’s Justin Fields — so if you have one of them, you can wait out Jackson, but don’t take any uncesseary risks given the must-win nature of the fantasy playoffs.

WEEK 15 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide Receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Jackson is a risk even if he’s active, as he figures to run less and/or be less effective. Given his accuracy struggles lately, iti’s unclear if you can count on him to get it done primarily with his arm. There’s a strong argument to be made that someone like Garoppolo (vs. Falcons), Tua Tagovailoa (vs. Jets), or maybe even Ben Roethlisberger (vs. Titans) is a better start given their matchups.

Regardless of whether Jackson plays, the Ravens’ pass-catchers are in a tough spot. Mark Andrews is still a must-start, but Marquise Brown and Rashod Bateman are squarely on the start-sit bubble. Bateman is better left on benches, and Hollywood is merely a flex.
