Michigan vs. Georgia live score, updates, highlights from 2021 College Football Playoff semifinal

This has been the season Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines have waited for.

They finally knocked off rival Ohio State for the first time since he became the new head coach, and proceeded to win the Big Ten. Now, No. 2 Michigan finds itself in the College Football Playoff set to face its biggest challenge of the season, No. 3 Georgia in the Orange Bowl.

The Bulldogs enter the game ranked No. 2 in total yards allowed per game at just 253.2 and have allowed the fewest points per game among FBS teams at just 9.5, but they’ll be tasked against a Michigan offense that averaged the 17th-most yards per game in the nation at 451.9 and averaged the 12th-most points per game at 37.7.

Georgia had been viewed as the No. 1 team all season until it was routed 41-24 against No. 1 Alabama in the SEC Championship game. Michigan is coming off a 42-3 blowout win against Iowa in the Big Ten Championship.

The CFP semifinal matchup will feature several of the nation’s top defensive linemen, with Michigan boasting Heisman Trophy finalist Aidan Hutchinson, while Georgia has one of the nation’s top defensive tackles in Jordan Davis.
