What channel is Eagles vs. Washington on today? Time, TV schedule for NFL Tuesday night game

The Washington Football Team may have squandered an opportunity to gain ground on the Cowboys in the NFC East last weekend, but they’re still very much alive in the NFC Wild Card hunt. They play a crucial game Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, who are coming off of a bye week and hold a 6-7 record – the same as Washington. Five teams in the NFC currently sit at 6-7, giving this game massive implications for the No. 7 seed in the conference.

Washington’s loss last week snapped a four-game winning streak, whereas the Eagles have won four of their last six. Their wins have come in mostly dominant fashion, while Washington was grinding out wins during their streak. The Eagles are favored by 4.5 in this game, as Jalen Hurts is expected to return after missing Week 13 with an ankle injury. Though the Eagles won 33-18, Hurts’ return gives a boost to the Eagles offense.

For Washington, they’ll have to bounce back after being held to a season-low in yardage against the Cowboys. Though they still mustered up 20 points, that was after being down 24-0 at the half, making the comeback ring a little hollow. They need to come out stronger against the Eagles, a team that thrives once it gets the lead due to a strong ground game.

Indeed, the Eagles now lead the NFL in rushing at 160 yards per game. To its credit, Washington is fifth in the league against the run, with 93.6 yards allowed per game. Something will have to give, and whatever does will likely break in that team’s favor. This should be a strong matchup of strength on strength when the Eagles running game goes up against Washington’s run defense, so look for that to be a deciding factor.

This game was originally meant to be played on Sunday, but due to a high number of positive COVID-19 tests it was postponed to Tuesday by the league. In a statement about the postponement, the NFL stated: “We have made these schedule changes based on medical advice and after discussion with the NFLPA as we are seeing a new, highly transmissible form of the virus this week resulting in a substantial increase in cases across the league.” Washington activated Montez Sweat and Jonathan Allen from the COVID-19 list on Saturday. If he plays, it will be Sweat’s first appearance since breaking his jaw on Halloween.
