Yahoo DFS Picks Week 15: NFL DFS lineup advice for daily fantasy football GPP tournaments

Paying up at the quarterback position isn’t a move we go out of our way to make very often. However, Kyler Murray has as much upside as anyone at the quarterback position, and we can include him in our Week 15 Yahoo DFS tournament picks without sacrificing elsewhere. Since we’re playing in GPP tournaments, we’ll have our fair share of guys with low floors and high ceilings, but that’s part of it.

We’re also calling on a few chalky DFS plays, but we’ll have enough differentiation to make some noise in this type of format.

WEEK 15 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide Receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Before we break down our picks, just a reminder of some key rules for Yahoo DFS. It’s essentially the same as FanDuel, with four-point passing TDs and half-point PPR.

Sunday main slate, $200 budget, no more than six players from the same team.

WEEK 15 DFS LINEUPS: DraftKings | FanDuel

  • The Cardinals are heavy road favorites against the Lions, and if the contest unfolds as expected, they will have things done and dusted by the fourth quarter. Murray should have his fingerprints all over the action that leads them to that point, however. If we’re a little lucky, the Lions will be peskier than expected and force Murray and Co. to keep their foot on the gas.

  • Gibson’s hot streak came to an end against the Cowboys last week, but part of that was thanks to the game getting away from the Football Team overall. The Eagles are home favorites, but the Football Team should be able to keep the contest within reach. Let’s not allow last week’s poor effort to scare us away from running him back into our lineup.

  • Barkley enjoyed his best game since returning from his ankle injury, turning 19 touches into 17.0 fantasy points. He finished with 95 total yards and has steadily been creeping his way toward the century mark in recent contests. The Giants are getting 10 points in this contest, so there’s the threat of Dallas jumping out to an insurmountable lead, but the plus side as it pertains to Barkley is he’s just as dangerous as a receiver as he is as a runner.

  • Johnson continues to handle a heavy target load. He earned another 10 against the Vikings last Thursday night, the fifth time in a row he’s had 10 or more passes thrown his way. As long as he’s dominating Ben Roethlisberger’s attention to this degree, we’re going to continue trying to include him in our lineup.

  • Waddle continues to grow at the professional level and demonstrate why he was drafted No. 6 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. He’s seen at least 10 targets in the past two and in four of the past six. His yards per catch (9.9) leaves plenty to be desired, but increased efficiency will come in time. Waddle scored 16.6 fantasy points against these Jets in Week 11, and another meaty score is on the menu this weekend.

  • Ja’Marr Chase woke up from a multi-week slumber with two touchdowns last week, but Higgins continued to perform as a No. 1-caliber producer in his own right. He’s had three straight games with over 100 yards with two touchdowns over that span. Even if Chase is ready to pick his game back up down the stretch, Higgins deserves to be viewed as a top wide receiver choice.

  • We’d certainly prefer Lamar Jackson (ankle) to be the one throwing darts to Andrews, but backup Tyler Huntley fed the star tight end well in relief. Andrews caught all 11 of his team-leading targets and has earned 40 total looks over the past four games. If you’re turned off by a backup quarterback taking the snaps, Dawson Knox is an easy pivot, but don’t underestimate what Andrews can do in the event Jackson is forced to miss this contest.

  • The injury bug is the hurdle that has consistently tripped Penny up over his career, and it’s even reared its head multiple times in 2021. He’s healthy now, though, and has a chance to establish himself as a solid NFL runner. He picked on the Texans last week to the tune of 26.3 fantasy points, and while the Rams will present a stiffer opponent, Penny will have another opportunity at a full plate of touches.

  • We’re still optimistic about the form the Football Team has demonstrated since the bye. Prior to surrendering 27 points to Dallas on Sunday, they had only allowed 17.5 points per game in four contests coming out of the bye. The Eagles are favored ahead of this weekend’s matchup, but they’ve hardly established themselves as some sort of offensive juggernaut.
