Emma Raducanu came up short in a spirited comeback attempt as she was knocked out of the Madrid Open in the third round by Ukraine’s Anhelina Kalinina.
After losing the opening set, the US Open champion hit back to level the match, but Kalinina overcame a deciding-set wobble to seal a 6-2 2-6 6-4 victory and reach the quarter-finals in the Spanish capital.
