In the Premier League, Arsenal will look to increase their squad depth as Mikel Arteta’s side hopes to resume their title campaign. They didn’t manage to get Douglas Luiz or Pedro Neto in the summer. Can Arsenal boost their midfield and title chances?

The Gunners may also be on the lookout for strikers following Gabriel Jesus’ injury during the World Cup.

With Ronaldo gone and a new Erik ten Hag philosophy, will that open the door to new recruits, or will the potential sale of the club halt any business?

Who could be on the move?

Ronaldo is bound to dominate the January transfer headlines. There will be a lot of discussion about the 37-year-old’s destination after he completes his Portugal duties.

Will he get the Champions League football he so desires, or will he remain in the Middle East, after Qatar, and join the Saudi Arabian league?

French superstar striker Kylian Mbappe could also be on the move. Despite signing a new deal with Paris Saint Germain, the 23-year-old reportedly wants to leave Ligue 1.

Could Mbappe come to the Premier League? He’s been linked to Liverpool in the past, but United will have the financial ability to pay him now that Ronaldo has left.

Or will United pay a little less for another rising attacking star? Cody Gakpo has caught the eye with his World Cup performances, scoring in each other of the Netherlands’ three group stages games, so might he leave PSV for United this winter?
