Everything Everywhere All at Once Wins Big in Oscar Universe

The cast and crew of Everything Everywhere All at Once are the true winners of the 2023 Oscars.

During the biggest award show of the year, The Academy announced Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert‘s film was the Best Picture of the Year. (For all the Oscar star sightings, click here.)

“I never thought I would get to say this, so I say it with one voice with all these people: thank you to The Academy,” producer Jonathan Wang told the Dolby Theatre audience. “A-24, thank you so much. You saw our weirdness and supported us for a year theatrically, that’s incredible, thank you.”

In addition to thanking his wife for her support, Wang paid tribute to his late immigrant father who taught him a lesson about treating people with respect.

“No person is more important than profits,” he said. “And no one is more important than anyone else. And these weirdos right here supported me in doing that.”

All Quiet on the Western Front, Avatar: The Way of Water, The Banshees of Inisherin, Elvis, The Fabelmans, Tár, Top Gun: Maverick, Triangle of Sadness and Women Talking were also nominated for Best Picture.
