Kris Boyd: Rangers fans want ‘accountability’ from Ibrox board | Football News
Sky Sports’ Kris Boyd believes Rangers supporters want the board to take “accountability” for the lack of silverware in recent seasons.
The club’s fans aimed another message at managing director Stewart Robertson and sporting director Ross Wilson ahead of their 4-2 win at Motherwell, live on Sky Sports.
They held up flyers with the club officials’ faces crossed with a red stripe and ‘Time for Change’, while a banner displaying the same message was unfurled before kick-off.
It comes after fan group the Union Bears vacated their seats at Ibrox in protest against the board during last Sunday’s Scottish Cup victory over Raith Rovers.
Several banners have been unfurled at games this season, including one during their league win over Kilmarnock claiming the board have taken their eye off the ball since the 2020/21 title success.

Boyd, who made over 170 appearances for Rangers over two spells, understands why it is happening.
“Fans get frustrated and they then start having a go at the board. It’s very difficult to stop and it seems to be growing by the week,” he said on Sky Sports.
“The recruitment at Rangers has not been good enough so there has to be accountability.
“There are ways to protest and it should be peaceful. You can understand their frustration as they pay a lot of money but so do those who aren’t taking part in the protests.
“But there’s no doubt that something has to happen, and happen quick at the club.”

Michael Beale wants the Rangers fans to be united behind the team
Rangers manager Michael Beale told Sky Sports after the win that he understood the protests, but wants the fans to be united with the team.
“They’re voicing their frustrations. I think at this moment in time they have a team that’s getting results and lots of players are taking part in that,” he said.
“We’re trying to move forward and improve and I just want everyone to stay together because we’re a stronger club when we are together.
“I understand the frustrations of the fans, they pay their money and they fill out every game home and away.
“They’re free to voice their opinion, but just me as the manager I think there’s more things to be positive about and I would like everyone to support the team on the pitch.
“I understand it, it’s just difficult at times for the team.”
