Lincoln 0 – 3 Peterboro

Peterborough fired an early warning to their play-off rivals with an impressive 3-0 win over Lincoln in League One’s early kick-off.

Darren Ferguson’s Posh cut the gap to sixth to just four points before the afternoon games as they inflicted the Imps’ first home league defeat of the season.

Goals from Jonson Clarke-Harris, Jack Taylor and Joe Ward did the damage at Sincil Bank as the visitors made it back-to-back away wins.

The hosts were the first to show as Matty Virtue’s strike powered into the side netting.

Jamaica striker Clarke-Harris opened the scoring with his 24th goal of the season as he fired home unmarked after Harrison Burrows dummied Nathanael Ogbeta’s cross from the left in the 28th minute.

After the break, Daniel Mandroiu almost equalised but his free-kick beat the wall and the post.

It was almost 2-0 just before the hour as Ward’s half-volley from the edge of the box clattered the inside of a post.

But Taylor made no mistake 23 minutes from time as his deflected effort hit the back of the net.

And Ward added a third seven minutes from time as he nestled home his second goal in as many games.
