Katharine McPhee Misses David Foster Tour Shows Due to Family Tragedy

Fans are keeping Katharine McPhee and David Foster in their thoughts.

The Smash star recently announced that she will be unable to take part in the last two Jakarta, Indonesia, stops on her husband’s Hitman Tour due to an undisclosed family emergency.

“Dearest Jakarta fans,” Katharine wrote in an Aug. 11 Instagram message, “It’s with a heavy heart I announce I have to miss our final 2 shows of our Asia run. David and I have had a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us needs to get back home to our family. Please know how sorry I am and how much I wish to return one day and perform for you all. Love, Katharine.”

The American Idol alum had been set to perform at the Sentul International Convention Centre on Aug. 11 and Aug. 12 along with David and the tour’s fellow special guests Michael Bolton, Loren Allred, Peabo Bryson and Raisa.
