There are 43 gold medals up for grabs on Friday at the Paris Olympics. We look at where those medals will be won and which Brits will be in action.

Team GB athletes and medal hopes
Two-time world champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson seeks a first Olympic medal as the women’s heptathlon concludes with the the long jump, javelin and 800m.
Johnson-Thompson sits top of the standings after four events, which included a season’s best in the 100m hurdles and a personal best in her traditionally weaker shot put. GB team-mate Jade O’Dowda is 17th with three events to come.
There is further British interest on the track in the evening as Amber Anning competes in the women’s 400m final alongside Ireland’s Rhasidat Adeleke, having qualified fourth-fastest from the semi-finals, while Eilish McColgan and Megan Keith go in the women’s 10,000m final.
Team GB will be also be targeting podium finishes in both the women’s and men’s 4x100m relay finals.
There are more medals to be won in the cycling, with Jack Carlin into the men’s sprint semi-finals, while world champions Elinor Barker and Neah Evans hope to secure gold in the women’s madison.
Emma Finucane, back in action just a day on from adding bronze in the keirin to her team sprint gold, now gets her individual women’s sprint campaign up and running, as does Sophie Capewell – the pair hoping to reach Sunday’s final.
In the climbing, 19-year-old Toby Roberts, who qualified in second, and fellow Brit Hamish McArthur will compete in the men’s combined final, with the boulder event starting at 9.15am, before the lead at 11.25am – the scores combined to determine the medals.
Elsewhere, Grace Reid and Yasmin Harper are in the women’s 3m springboard diving final, with Reid targeting a first Olympic medal and Harper hoping to add to her 3m springboard synchro bronze at this Games.
Staying with diving, Noah Williams and Kyle Kothari also compete in the men’s 10m platform preliminaries on Friday morning.
Meanwhile, Team GB’s Isabelle Thorpe and Kate Shortman, competing in their second Olympics, are in the artistic swimming duet competition final.
To kick-start the day’s action, Hercot Pardoe and Tony Robinson look to secure Britain’s first medal(s) of the day in the men’s 10km open-water swim from 6.30am, with Ireland gold medallist Daniel Wiffen also in action.
And we head into day three of the women’s golf tournament, though Britain’s Georgia Hall and Charley Hull are still well off the pace at six over and four over, respectively, with Switzerland’s.Morgane Metraux leading at the halfway stage at eight under.
