Clyde Edwards-Helaire injury update: Chiefs’ running back leaves game with collarbone injury

Even though Kansas City’s offense has been on full display against Pittsburgh, it has put up impressive numbers without one of the Chiefs’ top skill position players.

Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire left the game in the third quarter with a collarbone injury. After previously being deemed questionable to return, he was eventually ruled out of the contest at the end of the third quarter with the Chiefs leading 30-3.

Edwards-Helaire, in his second season with the Chiefs, had nine carries for just 27 yards, but did find the end zone in the first quarter to open the scoring. The LSU product has played in just 10 games so far this season, and previously missed Weeks 6-10 with an injury.

The LSU product hasn’t had 100 yards rushing this season since Week 4 against the Eagles. He has 517 yards and four touchdowns on 119 carries on the ground so far this season. He also has 19 catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns as a receiver.

The 32nd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Edwards-Helaire missed three games last season as well.
